about us.

a hint of tokyo spirit into your neighbourhood and a little place to slow down.

CHACHA was created from our love of the small, warm and nostalgic spaces I grew up around and discovered along the way.

Inspired by the Japanese kissaten (喫茶店) and Korean dabang (다방) :both transrated to tearoom, places where people came for coffee, tea, food, conversation, music, or simply a little time to themselves.

CHACHA is our own interpretation of that feeling here in Adelaide.

We opened our doors in 2024 with a simple idea, to create a place where time could move a little slower.

Our food and drinks reflect who we are and what we love. You’ll find Japanese and Korean influences throughout the menu, alongside classic coffee, traditional teas from all over the world (from china, taiwan, japan to nepal), and of course matcha and hojicha.

Also we offer beautiful south australian wines, japanese beers and whiskies, cocktails that accompany by simple but comporting snacks and sandwiches.

But CHACHA has never really been only just about drinks and foods.

Over the past two years, this little space has become home to lunch and dinners, sake tasting nights, art exhibitions, book club, music play night, communities, collaborations, birthday celebrations to countless conversations across the bar.

Most importantly, it has introduced us to a wonderful community of people who continue to give CHACHA its character.

Some come to catch up with friends.
Some come for a drink after a long day.
Some bring a book and sit quietly by themselves.
Some have been coming back since the beginning.

We love all of it.

CHACHA continues to change and grow with us, but the heart of it remains the same.

good food, good drinks, good people, and a little space to simply be.

Come in, take a seat and stay for a while. I can’t wait to say hello in person.

Enjoy a moment at CHACHA, where time flows slowly.
